MATERIUM offers products based from HOLLOW SILICA MICROSPHERES & graphene and MICROENCAPSULATION SERVICES.

These silica microspheres are manufactured in Canada and have the following features:

• Hollow silica microparticles
• Particle sizes: 200nm, 500nm, 10µm, 30µm, 100nm, 250nm
• Mesoporous particles (pores: 2-50nm)
• Low density: 0.08 – 0.3g/cm³
• High surface area: 100m²/g – 1000m²/g
• Amorphous silica
• Safe, nontoxic and biocompatible material
• Can be functionalized with polar and/or non-polar groups
• Dispersion in solution (water, alcohols, DMF, acetone…)
• Compatible with polar or apolar polymers

These very special particles have numerous applications:

• Encapsulation of custom active agents such as cosmetics, aroma, fragrances… The process used does not alter the active
• In bioprocesses, they can be used as support for the growth of microorganisms and for enzymes immobilization. As a result, they can increase the bioprocess productivity for active ingredients used in cosmetics such as hyaluronic acid, collagen, keratin, squalane…
• Can also be used for purification or filtration in water treatment, agriculture, pharmaceutical industry…
